Virtual prove-out before the machine
NC programs can be checked and optimized on the digital twin before the real machine loses time. This reduces troubleshooting during prove-out and increases preparation quality.
CHECKitB4
CHECKitB4 is not the digital twin itself. It is the vendor-neutral platform on which digital twins of CNC machine tools are operated. It supports virtual CNC controls from Siemens, HEIDENHAIN, and FANUC where a suitable virtual control and machine parameterization are available.
What CHECKitB4 Delivers
A digital twin is always created from the specific machine: kinematics, control, parameterization, tools, fixtures, and workpiece. CHECKitB4 provides the working environment in which these digital twins can be operated, used, and applied for NC verification, prove-out, training, and preparation.
CHECKitB4 has been in use since 2006 and was developed from real CNC manufacturing requirements - long before “digital twin” became a common market term.
The value lies in the combination of a vendor-neutral platform and virtual CNC control. Different machines and control worlds can be used in one solution instead of building separate workflows for each manufacturer environment.
What Sets CHECKitB4 Apart
CHECKitB4 supports the productive use of digital twins. What matters is not the most attractive graphic, but whether NC programs, control behavior, machine, tools, and fixtures come together in a way that produces reliable conclusions for real manufacturing.
NC programs can be checked and optimized on the digital twin before the real machine loses time. This reduces troubleshooting during prove-out and increases preparation quality.
CHECKitB4 uses available virtual CNC controls. NC code, cycles, and machine responses are therefore evaluated closer to the behavior of the real machine.
Depending on the module, CHECKitB4 supports feasibility checks, NC verification, virtual prove-out, setup information, and traceable machine sequences.
The platform is vendor-neutral. Manufacturers can use digital twins of different machines and controls in a consistent working environment.
CHECKitB4 in Three Apps
CHECKitB4 is modular. The applications support different workflow steps - from early feasibility checks to virtual machine runs and the practical use of setup and motion information.
FIRST STEP supports early assessment of setup, tools, workpiece and machine room. The aim is to identify critical points before a complete NC program is available.
This is useful when feasibility, reachability, interference contours or rough setup concepts need to be assessed early.
GIANT LEAP is the application for the virtual machine run on the digital twin. The NC program is verified in the virtual machine environment on the basis of the control.
Program logic, motion, tool and fixture situations, collisions, workpiece violations and runtimes can be assessed earlier - depending on data quality and machine configuration.
Motion Player makes motion sequences easier to review. It helps explain situations and use them for coordination or training.
This turns the digital twin into a communication basis between CAM programming, process planning and the machine.
Supported CNC Controls
CHECKitB4 supports virtual CNC controls from Siemens, HEIDENHAIN, and FANUC. The specific use case always depends on whether a suitable virtual control, parameterization, and machine model are available for the machine.
Including SINUMERIK 840D and SINUMERIK ONE.
Including iTNC 530, TNC 640, and TNC7.
FANUC via CNC Guide.
Detail Depth for Tools and Fixtures
A digital twin is only useful when the relevant components are represented with sufficient detail. This includes tool lengths, holders, fixtures, workpiece, work offsets and interference contours.
The better this data is maintained, the more meaningful the statements about collisions, setup situations and machine movement become.
Why CHECKitB4 as a Product
CHECKitB4 is the platform for using digital twins of CNC machine tools for feasibility, NC verification, virtual prove-out, optimization, and training.
Its specific value lies in bringing different machines and virtual controls together in one solution. For manufacturers with heterogeneous machine parks, this is often decisive.
Customer story
Pitmatec combines Hermle automation, standardized workflows and CHECKitB4 into a digital run-in process for complex single parts.
Task
Highly complex single parts and small batches had to be manufactured economically, automatically and with maximum process reliability.
Solution
CHECKitB4 virtually maps the Hermle machines and checks CAM programs as well as ShopMill programs created directly on the Siemens control before the real run.
Customer value
Safe unmanned manufacturing from lot size 1, less run-in effort, high machine availability and a fully digitally verified process chain.
„CHECKitB4 has raised our manufacturing to a new level. Today we can manufacture parts unmanned that used to require a lot of run-in time.“
FAQ
With CHECKitB4, the focus is usually not on individual features, but on questions about real usability in machine environments, control landscapes, and manufacturing processes. The following questions address exactly these points.
