Apps for ESPRIT EDGE

Extensions, Automation Modules, and Post Processors for ESPRIT EDGE

With our ESPRIT experience since 1998, we develop apps, post processors, and custom solutions that extend ESPRIT EDGE in a targeted way for daily use. The focus is not on additional features for their own sake, but on practical solutions for programming, probing workflows, NC output, and rule-based automation.

Automate

Rule-Based CAM Automation for ESPRIT EDGE

With our Automate solutions for ESPRIT EDGE, we implement rule-based CAM automation in different levels of maturity. We deliberately distinguish between Basic, Advanced, and Customized because not every manufacturer has the same starting point, the same degree of standardization, or the same target depth of automation.

The goal is to systematically represent recurring decisions in CAM programming and significantly reduce manual effort. Depending on the level, this begins with tools, cutting data, and standard processes and extends all the way to largely automated programming for standardized part families. The result is not theoretical automation, but a solution that saves time in daily work, secures knowledge, and makes program quality more consistent.

Automation Levels

Three Levels for Different Manufacturing Realities

Not every manufacturer can use CAM automation at the same depth from day one. That is why we build Automate in stages: from reliable tool and process rules through to broader automation for suitable part families.

Automate Basic

Automate Basic is the foundation for rule-based CAM automation directly in ESPRIT EDGE. The focus is on tools, cutting data, standard processes, and reusable rules that are provided consistently in programming.

This level is especially suitable for manufacturers with low or high part diversity whose part families can only be standardized to a limited extent. The goal is to move from individual know-how to repeatable programming and to prepare a clear path toward partially or largely automated programming.

Automate Advanced

Automate Advanced extends the approach with upstream information and additional automation logic. This includes machine templates, finished parts, tool layouts, STEP/PMI analysis, setup logic, and feature recognition.

This level is particularly suitable for part families that can be standardized well to very well. The goal is to move faster from incoming data to a reliable setup, clear feature recognition, and prepared program logic on which the Basic module can then generate tools, cutting data, and processes.

Automate Customized

Automate Customized is the customer-specific level. Here we combine existing modules with extensions tailored specifically to your processes, data situation, part families, and organizational workflows.

This level is especially useful where clearly standardized part families, defined process logic, and a high automation ambition come together. The goal is not a generic solution, but automation that fits your manufacturing exactly and generates measurable economic value there.

Probing App

Program Probing Operations More Easily, Faster, and More Transparently

Our Probing App for ESPRIT EDGE makes programming probing operations much easier. During programming, you can already see in a live preview what the respective probing operation will later perform on the machine.

Standard probing operations are available. Depending on your requirements, NC output can be generated either directly through the control cycle or through a structure agreed upon with you. This creates not an isolated probing block, but a probing process that fits clearly into your NC logic and machine reality.

Post Processors for ESPRIT EDGE

Post Processors for ESPRIT EDGE

Postprocessors for specific machines, controls and NC habits

A postprocessor is not just a file export. It translates CAM decisions into NC code for a specific machine with its control, kinematics, cycles, work offset logic and shop-specific programming conventions.

We support anything from straightforward milling postprocessors to complex machines: Swiss-type lathes, mill-turn centers, boring mills, head changes, multi-channel processes and multiple rotary or linear axes. Before implementation, requirements, test parts, machine functions and approval steps are clarified.

A good postprocessor is not “mastered” at a desk. It is verified against real programs, machine reactions and shop expectations. That is where quality is created.

Custom Solutions

Individual Extensions Based on the ESPRIT EDGE API

With our development team and the ESPRIT EDGE API, we can implement individual solutions - from simple interfaces to fully customized automation solutions.

For this, we work within a development framework built specifically for the ESPRIT API, which extends the standard functions in a targeted way. One major advantage is significantly better maintainability and upgrade capability with new ESPRIT versions. The result is not just one-off customizations, but extensions that remain sustainable over time.
